Our council is committed to providing a safe, high quality program experience for girls. Conducting background checks provides an important safeguard for the girls in our care.
Background check Information
Which positions require a satisfactory background check?
We ask all people who would like to work directly with girls on an ongoing basis, including troop leaders and assistant troop leaders, and/or serve as troop or service unit product sales managers to undergo a background check. Some other volunteer positions may also require a background check, which would be noted in the qualifications section of the position description.
What is required?
The applicant must provide her/his name, date of birth, Social Security number, gender, and seven year address history. You may access the site, create your account, and enter the information yourself or complete and return the Background Check Authorization form to your service center for processing. Girl Scouts of South Carolina – Mountains to Midlands pays the background check fee to Verified Volunteers, the background screening company. Volunteers may opt to contribute all or a portion of the fee.
Use this case sensitive GOOD DEED code: fp4f7d7 when using the online option.
