A Gold and Silver Award Celebration to Remember

gold and silver

On Sunday, May 7, our entire council came together to celebrate and honor our girls who earned their Gold and Silver Awards. Earning the Gold and Silver Awards means much more than a certificate and a pin. These top honor awards represent the courage it takes to lead, the confidence required to take risks and innovate new solutions, and the character that is so desperately needed in our leadership today. A girl who earns the Gold Award spends at least 80 hours planning, organizing, and working her project. She identifies a need in the community, innovates a solution, and takes action to make the world a better place. Leadership the Girl Scout way is not aspirational, it is the kind of practical leadership that makes change happen.

In true Girl Scout fashion, two of our very own Girl Scouts emceed the awards ceremony- we are so proud of how these young ladies stepped up and led like a Girl Scout. In addition to our Girl Scouts speaking, we got to hear from CEO, Kim Hutzell, and a member of our Board of Directors during the awards ceremony.

We are so proud of each girl who earns her Bronze, Silver, or Gold Award and we congratulate all who were honored at our May 7th awards ceremony!
