Girl Scouts teach girls to lead with courage, confidence and character. Our alumnae become independent, financially savvy civic and business leaders who excel in a wide range of professions. While we are proud of the impact we have made so far, the astounding potential of our girls inspires us to aim even higher. That is why we have developed a first-of-its kind leadership model to equip girls with the skills necessary to take charge of their careers and their dreams.

After extensive research and input from community leaders, donors, agency partners, alumnae, and current Girl Scouts, GSSC-MM created a visionary plan that will inspire Girl Scouts with unparalleled learning experiences and life-changing leadership opportunities. The result is a comprehensive leadership development program that utilizes both indoor and outdoor facilities.

To be located in Columbia’s Vista area, the Leadership Center will serve all Go-getters, Innovators, Risk-takers, and Leaders. Girl Scouts across our 22 counties will benefit from the 32,000 square foot facility that will create the workforce of the future. It is designed to be an incubator for leadership for all young women across the council. The girls who learn to empower themselves at the Leadership Center will go on to strengthen the fabric of our communities, our state, our country, and our world.

The Leadership Center will allow G.I.R.L.s to participate in indoor and outdoor activities in the five areas of leadership development: Arts, Business Enterprise, Healthy Living, Outdoor Education, and STEM.

It is easier than ever to learn about and donate to the ToGetHerThere Campaign.  From gssc-mm.org you can navigate to web pages that will update you on the ToGetHerThere Campaign, The Leadership Team, and everything about the Leadership Center in Columbia.  With the newly created pages you can follow along as stories are reported from the council or from media throughout our 22-county council.   The pages will also be updated with the latest pictures and videos of features and renderings.
