Girls from across the state of South Carolina- from both our council and Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina- spent four days at our State's capital learning about the political process, meeting officials, and serving as Pages. The girls started off their week at the State House by meeting the Governor, and getting introduced to their Senators and Representatives. Throughout the week, the girls got to sit on the House and Senate Floors while they were both in session as they assisted the officials.
The girls were also recognized on the Senate Floor by Senator Shealy, along with other representatives from Girl Scouts. The experiences the girls had, skills they learned, and the connections they made prepared them to lead with courage, confidence, and character in their own communities.
