Teen Pregnancy
“My Gold Award Leadership Project helped make teens aware of abstinence and disease, the importance of protection, and beating the increase in teen motherhood. I wanted to help teens make wiser choices and to let them know that choices can be thought out to beat the odds and change teen pregnancy statistics,” Shannon explains. “Girl Scouting has helped me become a leader through stepping up out of my shyness. It has taught me not to be scared to stand up for what I know is right. All through my project I could feel that I was helping others.”

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Report a Problem
