Gold Award Project
A Place of Hope
Amber
“I built an enclosed area at Safe Harbor, a facility for women in domestic violence situations, with picnic tables, mulch, roses, and a gate for the 8-foot privacy fence. Women residents can now use the whole area and feel secure while being there,” explains Amber. “Because this was my Gold Award Leadership Project, I had to make sure that everything was going to come out successfully. It is important to be specific and patient when working with people. This firsthand experience has made me more comfortable in my ability to lead.”

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Report a Problem
