Tell us... What Did You Do Today!

Hands-on learning activities are woven into the Girl Scout experience all across our Mountains to Midlands council. Girls from all backgrounds in grades K5 through 12 join in the fun. Girl Scouting is the place where girls can grow strong, either through traditional troops and programs, or along other pathways designed to accommodate the varied communities and schedules of girls today. Additionally, we have programs to serve specific target populations. So that every girl can participate in Girl Scouting, we provide financial assistance for membership.

Outreach Support this Program!
Girls in traditionally underserved or rural areas of Mountains to Midlands participate at neighborhood centers, in schools, through shelters and short-term housing facilities, and in partnership with other youth-serving organizations, such as the Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Clubs, and local housing authorities.

Girl Scouts Beyond Bars Support this Program!
Girls have an opportunity to visit their incarcerated mothers weekly to monthly, where they take part in mother/daughter Girl Scout troop meetings. Mothers lead the troop meetings and often facilitate discussions about family life, violence and drug abuse prevention. Through these experiences they develop skills in leadership, conflict resolution and parenting, all of which are essential for success in family life and employment after their release.

Hispanic Initiative Support this Program!
Recognizing that the fastest growing population in the United States is the Hispanic community and that Girl Scouting currently serves only 6.9% of the Latina population, GSUSA launched their Hispanic Initiative. Its goal is to deliver high-quality program to every Latina who wants to be a Girl Scout. Mountains to Midlands community specialists provide weekly activities at locations affording these young ladies and their families maximum access to the Girl Scout experience.
