Before the Curtain is an interactive presentation exploring the art
and athleticism of ballet in a fun and educational format. The event,
sponsored by the Charlotte Youth Ballet, gives local Girl Scout troops
the opportunity to get a look at what goes into putting on a ballet in
a special behind the scenes presentation, that highlights dancers that
are also Girl Scouts, the magic of props and sets, and different ways
to incorporate lessons from Girl Scouts into putting on a production.
This year is the 45th anniversary of the Charlotte Youth Ballet
Nutcracker as well as the 90th Birthday of our founder, Gay Porter, so
it is sure to be a special one! A special event patch is also
included.
The Before the Curtain events are on Saturday, December 7 at 12:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 8 at 1:00 p.m. These programs take place before the matinee performances at Halton Theater which is located at CPCC in Charlotte, NC 28204.
