Fit Columbia is an award winning studio offering a balanced approach to sustainable fitness & life enhancement through strength & mobility training, childlike play, and yoga. We would like to work with local Girl Scouts to provide an opportunity to teach yoga, meditation and non-traditional yoga (such as aerial yoga, wall yoga and yoga with baby goats).

The GCMA is able to provide tours and hands-on studio activities to support ART badges. We often do programs on Sunday afternoons, and otherwise are open Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-5pm. We can schedule tours with two-week notice; studio activities with two months notice. All programs are free of charge.

Plate 108 is a cooking and entertainment venue dedicated to providing you with the cooking skills you need to succeed in the kitchen as well as the perfect space to kick back and have a fine dining experience! We teach a varitey of cooking classes! Girl Scouts can learn basic to advance cooking skills in our kitchen by professional chefs. We also offer baking and cupcake classes! Girl Scouts in the past have participated in our cupcake wars competition classes!

Tiffanie Nina Simone Foundation

Stephanie Gives is an educator, artist, illustrator, speaker, and the mother of Tiffanie Nina Simone Hayes.  After the passing of her only child, Gives established The Tiffanie Nina Simone Foundation in 2015 to help inspire children to see their value no matter what circumstances they were dealing with.  The foundation is also used to bring awareness to Rett Syndrome which is a progressive, genetic disorder that affects girls and boys at the beginning  stages of infancy; currently there is no known cure for (RS).

Paws Animal Wildlife Sanctuary

Paws Animal Wildlife Sanctuary is committed to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of orphaned or injured wildlife.  We provide educational presentations accompanied by our federally licensed, non-releasable animal ambassadors that promote peaceful coexistence with native wildlife .  For our older scouts, we have on-site projects that would meet requirements for service hours.  For our younger scouts, we have a variety of programs to assist with earning badges and learning how to care for the environment around you.  If you are looking for a new and different way to earn your scout badges, let PAWS provide you with some exciting experiences.

SC Forestry Commission & Harbison

Harbison State Forest is an educational forest that is managed by SC Forestry Commission. Currently SCFC offers an annual badge workshop for Girl Scouts – Cadette “Naturalist” Tree Badge Workshop. “Grab your naturalist hat and get ready to get to know trees from the shade to the science, the fruit to the forest, and the legends to the lumber.” Scouts will cover all five requirements during this 3.5 hour program.  SC Forestry Commission is happy to offer education programs by request. All programs need to be focused around a tree or forestry related theme. We require a minimum of 10 students and will see a maximum of 50 students for a program.

Dark Horse Horsemanship

We provide opportunities to develop leadership, communication and life skills, with horses as the teachers. Girls will learn how to communicate with horses on the ground, learning about the nature of horses and why they do what they do. The will learn basics of riding, horse care and handling. Palmetto Outdoors

Palmetto Outdoors has been West Columbia's professional outfitting service for tubes, kayaks and tours for the last 14 years. We offer self guided tubing and kayak rentals on the Saluda River during the summer and guided trips to the Congaree National Park in the Spring and Fall. We can do private, guided trips outside of our existing programs for groups. We wish to develop premier packages specifically for girl scouts as requested.

Wildlife Action is a coalition of hunters, fishermen, and environmentalists who strive to take care of the environment, wildlife, and our natural resources.  We are dedicated to conservation by bringing awareness to the public and educating local children. The mission of The Local Hiker is to educate, encourage, and equip people of all ages and skill levels to get outdoors and enjoy our natural resources safely and while leaving a minimum impact on the environment. Kathy Silverman owns The Local Hiker and is a huge advocate and supporter of Girl Scout and Boy Scout programs. She has volunteered in both organizations and understands their mission. Opportunities are available at The Local Hiker for troop workshops on a variety of outdoor skills as well as other outdoor education opportunities offered at the shop throughout the year.

Ignite Learning Center

Ignite is a STEAM learning center located in Greenville, SC. During the school year, Ignite offers a variety of programming for all learners that includes weekly after school classes for school age students, day time classes for preschool children, and home school classes in the STEAM disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Classes cover topics such as coding, circuitry, engineering challenges, propulsion, and digital storytelling.  During the summer, we offer half-day weekly STEAM camps.

At Ignite, we want to provide an engaging environment where girls can explore STEAM topics and build a strong foundation for future STEAM opportunities.

Riverbanks Zoo and Garden

Riverbanks Zoo and Garden offers a variety of educational programs for Girl Scout Troops including Overnights, Journey's in a day, and 1.5 to 2 hour merit based programs that help meet badge, awards, and achievement requirements.

Roper Mountain Science Center

Roper Mountain Science Center is a model of collaboration between public and private resources. School District of Greenville County's vision for a science center that could provide the district’s 68,000 students with innovative opportunities to experience hands-on science enrichment activities.  Public programs now include, Second Saturday, Starry Nights, Butterfly Adventure, Summer camps, and Science on Wheels. We also host day events for badge completion as well as offered lock-ins on the mountain. Individual troops are able to book directly with us for their specific badge needs.

The Swamp Rabbits are in the business of affordable family entertainment. Our professional hockey team is only part of the entertainment package patrons receive when they enter Bon Secours Wellness Arena! Peace Center

With a 2,100-seat concert hall, a 400-seat theater, an amphitheater, and a variety of indoor and outdoor meeting, rehearsal, and event spaces, the Peace Center has become the hub of cultural life in Upstate South Carolina. What makes the Peace Center special are the performance venues and each space is architecturally and acoustically remarkable. Classical, dance, jazz, country, bluegrass, folk, pop, and comedy performers, as well as a full calendar of national Broadway tours, are equally spectacular on the Peace Center’s stages.  For the Girl Scout Members, we are able to make Girl Scout Night programs available that include a special meet and greet opportunity with cast members, educational experiences and discounted tickets for performances.
