Friends are made along life’s path;
Some will stay and some will pass,
But WaBak friends will always last.
Welcome! Friends of Camp WaBak (FOCW) is a volunteer organized and led association of camp alumni, volunteers, girls, parents, and supporters who seek to support and promote Camp WaBak. We’d love for you to join our community!

FOCW was founded and spearheaded by Amy Brown, Carol Clanton, and Lois Graves.
Amy is a Lifetime Member and a leader for both Troop 2562 and the Trailblazers M2M group. She also serves on her service unit team in various roles. Additionally, Amy has written a number of posts about WaBak’s history on her blog. She believes Camp WaBak is a treasure that should be preserved for all generations because “It’s a place to learn, to love, to grow.”
Carol has been a Girl Scout for more than 60 years and is a Lifetime Member. She grew up in the Old 96 legacy council and attended Camp WaBak as a camper and was on staff for four summers. She currently is a Trainer/Facilitator for GSSC-MM working with the Program Aide/Volunteer-in -Training for teen girls and serving on the Gold Award Panel. Carol has a love for outdoor life and a passion to see that girls and adults continue to have the Camp WaBak experience that prepares them for a lifelong appreciation of our camp heritage and the out-of-doors.
Lois is a Greenville, SC native and a Lifetime Girl Scout member having joined the Movement in second grade. She was a staff member of the Old 96 legacy council and directed Camp WaBak for 15 summers. She is interested in seeing FOCW grow with folks who care about WaBak as much as she does.

Hello Campers! This will be my fourth summer as Camp Director at Camp WaBak. Cats are my favorite animals, and I have three named S’mores, Binx, and Tillman. You will see me sporting a purr-fect cat shirt most days at camp. My favorite part of camp is seeing girls come together and become great friends over the course of the week. My favorite camp food is Brownie Stew over the fire, and I can’t wait to sing Percy the Paleface Polar bear at the first campfire in June.
Hello Campers! This will be my fourth summer as Camp Director at the Cathy Novinger Girl Scout Leadership Center Day Camp! I started my camp experience as a Program Aide at Camp Mah-Kah-Wee in Florida. I love camp fashion: tie dye, braids, walkie talkies, and my large water bottle. Dressing up for camp is the best! My favorite part of camp is watching our girls try new things like making new creations in the kitchen, climbing the rock wall, or being a leader at camp games. I love making s’mores every week with our campers and being able to share my favorite camp song, "I Gotta Daisy on my Toe!"
We are looking for an energetic seasonal camp director for day camp at Camp Mary Elizabeth! The camp director leads the development and facilitation of all camp programs for girls, ages 5–14. They are responsible for the daily operation of camp, staff development, parent engagement, and fun!
