Below are some of the Learning Paths and Courses you may find on gsLearn:
- Co-Leader Certification (CLC) Program Learning Path: The CLC Program is required for all new co-leaders and is a welcome refresh for returning leaders! The Co-Leader Certification Program will empower you to become the confident leader of girls you signed up to be. The modules will provide you with knowledge and skills necessary for the troop year ahead—and beyond!
- Juliette Mentor Guide: A Girl Scout Juliette is a girl who participates in the Girl Scout program on her own, with your guidance. Since she is not affiliated with a troop, she needs a mentor who supports her as she explores her Girl Scout experience. The Mentor Guide is recommended for all Juliette mentors.
- Enrichment courses: Want to learn how to implement troop government with your girls? How about the important steps to deescalating conflict with other volunteers? Have you ever wanted to explore the tried and true Girl Scout traditional songs, ceremonies, crafts, and special days? Enrichment trainings on these subjects (and more!) are available in a variety of formats to fit your needs.
Outdoor Training
Register for all upcoming outdoor trainings through our Events Calendar. See below to learn more about some of our most popular trainings:
- Intro to Cabin Camping: Learn what you need to know to introduce your girls to camping. This course will emphasize meal planning and preparation, use of kaper charts, propane stoves, fire safety, knot tying, knife safety and Leave No Trace ethics. This is a hands on course where you will prepare and eat a full meal. Intro to Cabin Camping is a pre-requisite for Tent training.
- Basic Troop Tent Camping: Learn what you need to know to take your girls tent camping. This course will emphasize knowledge of outdoor skills such as fire building, tent pitching, varied outdoor cooking techniques, and campfire programs. This is a hands on course where you will prepare and eat a full meal. Pre-requisites: Introduction to Cabin Camping Training, 5 hour course or previous Sleep In training.
- Hybrid Camp Training: Learn what you need to know to introduce your girls to camping. This course will emphasize meal planning and preparation, use of kaper charts, propane stoves, fire safety, knot tying, knife safety and Leave No Trace ethics, fire building, tent pitching, varied outdoor cooking techniques, and campfire programs. This is a hands-on course where you will prepare and eat a full meal. This is a blended learning opportunity for EXPERIENCED campers. This course will be long and have a lot of information. Only for adults with lots of previous experience outdoor camping.
- USA Archery Level 1 Certification: Level 1 Archery Instructor Certification (8-hour course) provides you with the knowledge to safely run an indoor and outdoor archery range. Level 1 instructors are prepared to teach beginner archery programs to people of all ages and abilities. Instructors learn about range safety, equipment maintenance, range set up, and steps of shooting. This certification is a hybrid mix of online and in-person instruction.
- Girl Scouts Small Craft Safety Training: The Girl Scouts of USA Small Watercraft Safety Training and workbook focuses on canoes and kayaks. You will learn about small watercraft safety, basic water rescue, and moving water safety. Participants must be currently certified in First Aid and CPR and be able to swim.

CPR & First Aid Training
GSSC-MM now requires all volunteers interested in receiving their CPR and First Aid certifications to complete an in-person skills session. This can be done through a fully in-person course or through blended learning.
We encourage volunteers to use the American Red Cross "Adult, Child and Baby First Aid/CPR/AED Online" course, followed by an instructor-led skills session. This online course will prepare you to recognize and care for emergencies and features award-winning simulation learning and interactive experiences where you will respond to real-world emergencies in a virtual setting to help prepare you to recognize and respond to a variety of first aid, breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants.
At this time, we are working with American Red Cross and volunteers from across the council to create a plan to facilitate and expand our in-person CPR/First Aid trainings. If you are unable to attend a council-led training, GSSC-MM will reimburse eligible volunteers (one per troop/per year) up to $35 to cover the costs of the course, for all approved CPR/First Aid courses. To receive reimbursement, first purchase the course on your own, complete the course (average time: 2 hours, 45 minutes), and submit your proof of payment, course completion, and a reimbursement request form to customercare@gssc-mm.org.
