Program Aide (PA) training is a leadership opportunity designed to help older Girl Scouts build their skills in mentoring and guiding younger girls. Through this training, participants will gain confidence, knowledge, and expertise that will prepare them for future leadership roles, both within Girl Scouting and beyond.
The training will focus on:
- Leadership skills: How to lead and mentor younger girls effectively.
- Teamwork: Working together with other teen Girl Scouts to develop a supportive network.
- Activities and tools: Learning how to facilitate fun, engaging activities for younger Girl Scouts.
The overnight training will take place at Camp WaBak on March 22-23, offering a hands-on opportunity for girls to connect with peers from around the council and build meaningful leadership skills. Participants will be trained to become mentors who can assist at future Girl Scout events, camps, and meetings.
Additionally, internships will be available throughout the year for girls to continue their leadership journey by working alongside Girl Scout staff to assist with programs and events. As Program Aides, girls may also be called on to help council members with various programs, further developing their skills and contributing to the success of local Girl Scout activities.
Girls will also have the chance to:
- Engage in team-building and interactive activities.
- Connect with other Girl Scouts in their community.
- Learn how to plan and lead activities that align with Girl Scout values and goals.
This training is not only a chance to develop leadership skills, but also to build a sense of responsibility and gain valuable experience that can be applied in future roles within Girl Scouts or beyond.
