What if you could design something on a computer and then hold your creation in your hands? In this hands-on STEM workshop in Columbia, girls will discover how 3D printing turns digital ideas into real-world objects!
Girls will learn the basics of 3D printing and 3D modeling, then use Tinkercad to design their own 3D object. They'll watch their designs come to life using Prusa 3D printers and, time permitting, take on a second, more challenging design project.
Design it. Print it. Take it home! Girls will leave with new digital design skills, a better understanding of how 3D printers work, and their completed creations once printing is finished.
This workshop is a fast-paced, in-depth learning workshop led by EdVenture Children's Museum. Entrance to the museum is included with your registration.
This is not a drop-off event. Any/all girls will need to register with a Troop Leader or Chaperone to be allowed to attend. Individually registered girls with adults are welcome to register as well. Adults will not be tasked with leading the program or activities but are required to stay for the duration of the program and provide supervision.
