What makes technology "smart"? In this hands-on STEM workshop in Columbia, girls will explore the fascinating world of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning and discover how these technologies are already part of our everyday lives-from virtual assistants and streaming recommendations to GPS and more.
Girls will use Quick, Draw! to experience how AI learns to recognize and predict images. Then, they'll use Scratch Lab's AI extension to create an interactive face-sensing filter, learning how coding and AI can work together. Girls will customize their programs and add their own creative twists and interactions.
Explore it. Code it. Make it your own! Girls will build coding skills while thinking critically about how AI works, where we see it in our lives, and the possibilities-and responsibilities-that come with this technology.
This workshop is a fast-paced, in-depth learning workshop led by EdVenture Children's Museum. Entrance to the museum is included with your registration.
This is not a drop-off event. Any/all girls will need to register with a Troop Leader or Chaperone to be allowed to attend. Individually registered girls with adults are welcome to register as well. Adults will not be tasked with leading the program or activities but are required to stay for the duration of the program and provide supervision.
Confirmation emails will be sent out three to five business days prior to the program's start date. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact customercare@gssc-mm.org.
