Camp Mary Elizabeth Day Camp 

Experience camp in the heart of Spartanburg.  Girls entering first grade through sixth grade will enjoy days packed with adventure and friendship at Camp Mary Elizabeth.  Day camp with us includes traditional camp activities like hiking, swimming in the Junior Olympic size pool, games, archery, campfires, and skill building, as well as theme focused activities for each age group.

Summer 2020 Dates

June 2 - August 7, 2020

$175 per week

Regular Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Early Hours: 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. $10 per week

Late Hours: 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. $10 per week

Discounts: $25 Member Discount, $25 Early Registration Discount (registration before Jan 31, 2020)

Day Camp

Each week brings a whole new adventure, through theme related, age level badge work and incredible guest speakers, who will bring real world fun to each session. Girls can select to spend Thursday night cooking an outdoor meal, taking part in a campfire, and a slumber party in the Lodge.

Week One - Water World

Water World, June 2-5 - We will kick off the hot summer by staying cool during water week.  Water games, activities, and special guests are sure to start off the summer totally wet and wild.

Week Two - Wild About Wildlife

Wild about Wildlife, June 8-12 - Love animals? We will have some fuzzy adventures learning about the native animals of Camp Mary Elizabeth and of South Carolina.

Week Three - Let’s Get Outdoors

Let’s Get Outdoors, June 15-19 - Try your hand at camping and survival this week with Let’s Get Outdoors.  Working with your sister Girl Scouts will have you confident to take on the wilderness of CME.

Week Four - Mad Scientist

Mad Scientist, June 22-26 - Get crazy with some out of this world experiments.  Learn about different types of science and make a mess. Use your scientific brain to help solve a real-world problem.

Week Five - Holidays Around the World

Holidays around the World, June 29-July 3 - Who doesn’t love Christmas in July?  Learn how other Girl Scout sisters celebrate holidays around the world.  Experience a different holiday every day and end the week with a celebration.

Week Six - Make and Create at CME

Make and Create at CME, July 6-10 - Calling all artists and makers to this fun filled week at camp.  Creators will experience many different types of art and showcase their special project for all to enjoy!

Week Seven - CME’s Top Chef

CME’s Top Chef, July 13-17 - Peel, dice, simmer, and savor the week at CME.  We will experience both outdoor cooking techniques as well as a traditional kitchen atmosphere.  We will learn food and preparation safety, and get some top tips from an experienced chef.

Week Eight - Colonial Camper

Colonial Camper, July 20-24 - Explore the past and live as a colonial girl in this week at camp.  Learn about early America with an introduction of colonial camping skills and tools for survival.

Week Nine - GIRL Hero

GIRL Hero, July 27-31 - Find out how to harness your G.I.R.L. power this week by meeting real life heroes who help people every day. 

Week Ten - Girls Give Back

Girls Give Back, Aug 3-7 - It’s time to take action and make an impact at camp.  Be a part of a service project with your sister Girl Scouts and have fun while giving back!

 

Leadership

Girls entering sixth through eighth grade who have a passion for working with their younger Girl Scout sisters and are wanting to take an active leadership role at camp, this training is for you!  After completing the Program Aide training, you will be eligible to volunteer for a week at camp to hone your leadership skills.

Camp Mary Elizabeth Swim Lessons

Camp Mary Elizabeth is an approved Learn-to-Swim provider through the American Red Cross (ARC). ARC certified Water Safety Instructors and Lifeguards supervise all water programs. We recommend you register for swim lessons at least three weeks in advance as classes tend to fill fast.

Preschool Aquatics

Preschool-age children from four to five years old are taught basic aquatic safety and swimming skills, all the while increasing their comfort level in and around the water. Skills are age-appropriate, helping children achieve success on a regular basis and enjoy social interactions with other children. As in all swimming and water safety courses, your child will always know that safety comes first. Lessons sessions are Monday through Friday from 4:00- 4:30 p.m.

Learn to Swim

Designed to help participants achieve maximum success, Learn-to-Swim courses are based on logical progression that helps swimmers of varying ages and abilities develop their water safety, survival, and swim skills.  Learn to Swim is open to swimmers ages 6 to 18 and will be broken up within each session by age and ability.  Sessions are Monday through Friday from 4:45- 5:30 p.m. and 5:45- 6:30 p.m.

Private Lessons

A private lesson costs $20 for a 30-minute session or $35 for a 45-minute session.  Private lessons are available for Parent and Child Aquatics (6 months to 3 years old), Preschool Aquatics (4 to 5 years old), and Learn-to-Swim (6 to 18 years old).  To find out more, please speak to the Camp Director or Aquatics Manager.
