Summer Camp | Girl Scouts of South Carolina—Mountains to Midlands

Meet your Leadership Center Day Camp Director,
Rebecca Sgroi aka FLiP (
Book time with FLiP)

Hello campers! This will be my fifth summer as camp director at the Cathy Novinger Girl Scout Leadership Center Day Camp! I started my camp experience as a Program Aide at Camp Mah-Kah-Wee in Florida. I love camp fashion: tie-dye, braids, walkie-talkies, and my large water bottle with a million stickers. Dressing up for camp is the best! My favorite part of camp is watching our campers try new things, such as making new creations in the kitchen, climbing the rock wall, or being leaders at camp games. I’m most excited for our cooking weeks and our holidays at camp. I can’t wait for closing campfire each Friday–who doesn’t love s’mores and songs! My favorite camp song is “I Gotta Daisy on my Toe!” or “Princess Pat”!

Meet your Camp WaBak Camp Director,
Anna Ruggiero aka Cougar

Hi campers! I grew up going to Girl Scout Camp Low Country near Charleston, South Carolina, where I later became the assistant camp director. I’ve also worked at Girl Scout camps in North Carolina, Florida, and Arkansas. I love camp, and I can’t wait to share the summer with you. Some of my favorite activities at camp are pajama breakfasts, archery, and splashing around in the pool. Camp is such a great opportunity to try new things, and I love watching our campers grow in confidence as they try new activities and challenges, like our Olympian Family Challenge, zombie run, and stargazing storytelling.  ou’ll often hear me adding verses to “The Bear Song” as the week progresses. Best of all, I know the friends made at camp can last a lifetime!
